Program Coordinator (Full-time)

Job location: Winston-Salem, NC

The Program Coordinator is responsible for creating an overall exceptional experience for people attending Venture Café events and programs, including the Thursday Gathering and off-site Entrepreneurial Events. This is a full­-time position based in Winston-Salem in Innovation Quarter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Thursday Gathering, Off-site Venture Café Nights & Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Events

  • Must be available every Thursday between 3pm and 8:30pm for the Thursday Gathering. Exceptions are the week of July 4, Thanksgiving, and last two weeks of December. (Allotted Vacation excluded, of course)
  • Execute weekly logistics to host Venture Café Gatherings and off-site Café i.e., event setup, vendor relations.
  • Help create marketing and communication materials, including social media for each event
  • Assist with follow-up with confirmed sessions for logistical needs and setup
  • Track office supplies and condition for reorders & replenishment for events
  • Setup and breakdown of Thursday Gathering events
  • Setup and breakdown of Café Nights- held quarterly in Regional Locations
  • Develop marketing/PR strategy with Program Director to ensure strong event participation, community awareness and engagement.
  • Identify potential collaborative partnerships within the Triad community to partner with Venture Café WS.
  • Track metrics (i.e. attendance, quality, value) and submit a quarterly report with surveyed feedback.
  • Assist Program Director with search for speakers for Venture Café Theme nights.
  • Volunteer recruitment and training

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service, communication, problem solving, and proofreading skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Word Press, Mailchimp, Canva or other graphics creations programs. Database experience a plus.
  • Experience coordinating multiple small-to-medium-scale events at the same time
  • Comfortable with failure; Commitment to improvement
  • Creative and flexible
  • Relentless, obsessive attention to detail
  • Long-term commitment to and passion for mission-driven work
  • Able to work independently
  • Interest in sharing ideas – kick-ass ideas a bonus
  • Support the entire entrepreneurial ecosystem to serve the entrepreneurs and small businesses in our community
  • Able to work in an open-concept office
  • Willingness to ask questions
  • Has great connections within his/her community. Knowing the name of all three Schuyler sisters a plus
  • Enjoys saying phrases like “what’s next?” and “how can I help?”
  • Ability to converse about popular Netflix and Hulu series a plus

Salary: $35,000 plus benefits:

  • The organization provides employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. 100% of health care costs.
  • Two weeks of paid time off (PTO) in the first year — increasing to three weeks after the second full year. All federal Holidays observed. Summer hours available between Memorial Day and Labor Day, unless mandatory event is scheduled.
  • Flex time | Work from home an option when schedules allow.
  • After the first year, is eligible to participate in the 401(k) plan
